Herr Drumpf is not a traditional conservative. He is a reactionary populist and a fascist. Unfortunately, his ilk has destroyed the Republican Party in the US, and the same may happen to the conservative party(s) in Canada as well.
Canadians however are not Americans, and are more hostile to fascism. When it rears it's ugly head, they will flock to the opposing party en masse.
