Except it doesn't really work like that, with very few Calgarians going north along the 93 (which can be closed or quite sketchy and a much longer drive than the kms suggest) since there are multiple ski hills around Banff + Panorama and Kicking Horse.
International travellers on the other hand often do the YEG-Jasper-Icefield Glaciers-L.L.-Banff-YYC loop and that drives a lot of European travel.
Jasper is also less attractive because of a lack of somewhere like Canmore to pair with it where you can buy a recreational/investment property.
