The attachment and quality of masonry installation is very much a part of what the government inspects.
Certifications of occupancy can be denied or revoked for cracking, spalling, dusting, flaking, bowing (vertical bulges), sweeping (horizontal bulges), leaning, and mortar deterioration, whether the masonry is load bearing or not (e.g. veneer).
Again, another shill excusing the government from what it should be doing to protect its citizens from faulty work of corporations.
