I've heard recently that the Vue at Lakeshore condo development on 23rd Ave is ready to go with construction starting this spring - and an eta of mid 2019 for completion. Has anyone else heard if this development is a go?

I don't remember the details on that one. Will the dental and medical offices be required to move? Are they taking the building down?

well, they sure are clearing out a lot of space inside the mall for something. If Havik is 7000, how much is Smitty's/Chatters/Tim's? Now add some of the other storefronts/common area... is that getting close to 20000?

If they need to completely gut & reconfigure, I interested to see how they'll maintain access to the RBC & BMO pedways.

It will be very interesting to see what they will do. I know they want to redo the whole 11th Ave street front including demoing the Cornwall Centre Office Building, but that might not be in the initial phase.

I assume the RBC pedway access will be shifted north.

Yeah - it pretty well has to shift north, really no other option.
Telus is moving next to Roots, so that give a northern boundary for H&M's potential footprint.

They could potentially add square footage by building-in the 2nd floor above the entrance - it is open now. Also they could push the entrance out on to the courtyard on 11th, but if they enclose the front of the Havik Building, I am pretty sure they will need a heritage permit.

I am wondering, perhaps, if Lululemon isn't going to be the business going into the former Havik space, and H&M would occupy a new two-level store that would replace the three-storey office building? I have always found the Lululemon store to be visually underwhelming from the exterior.

Is H&M confirmed?

Cornwall isn't saying yet. They said on social media there is a big announcement coming, but they will wait for the store to announce it first.

I is not that big. $1.5 million in office alterations. That might only be one floor - Grenfell Tower.

"extremely?" meh... there's certainly value in the Gold's name & that drives customers, but it's also likely held people back (the Golds I went to had a defininte "bro" vibe). I bet on the whole, it's a wash.

I can't believe Gold's only let Regina members use other gyms 14 times per year. That alone would have pushed me to GoodLife (use any location in Canada, as often as you like).

(this rebranding won't be the Burger King to Jake's disaster... anyone else remember that miscalculation?)

Gold's 'let' them go to other Gyms? How the hell would they prove you're at another Gym? What's it to them anyways if you pay your membership.

Exactly. it's a bizarre policy. To my mind, the key benefit to joining a brand-name gym is the ability to access any of their locations. To limit it to 14 visits a year? weeeeeeeird.

(they probably list your home gym in your profile, and when you scan your card at a non-home location, it deducts from your 14 visit total)
