I haven't been able to get the youtube embed links to work so I just post 'em as regular links. Maybe now that they're about to actually release some info and maybe start construction this year, they'll release a nicer video, like the flyby one they have for Brentwood.

Interesting - the description is:

"A quick fly through video of The City of Lougheed depicting the entire centre and the proposed location for CIBC."

I didn't see a CIBC - though there was a façade with red banners - but I did see a Whole Foods clearly labelled as such, while all other signs are generic.

I would, however, expect Safeway to have exclusivity - but perhaps that is "in the mall" whereas the Whole Foods in along a new street in a separate building.

Here's the location marked with Whole Foods:

this is not a resort. I don't expect them to be architecturally exciting. Just a cluster of match box buildings for medium income people like me (that is what I hope anyway)who cant afford metrotown or Brentwood. But seems to be well lay out with all services and retails in place. once built out, truly like a self sufficient satellite town.

To get it to work delete everything in the URL except the YouTube file number.

Largest approved master planned community in Canada. What about North America? Maybe second behind Hudson Yards in Manhattan?

This is how you build affordability and aiming for green. Burnaby really gets it.

Toronto-Mississauga is getting Garden City (donno if it's approved). Looks like it could be the size of the Lougheed project?

Wonder who gets to be invited? Realtors perhaps?
Escala did the same thing if I remember correctly. When will the average joe get to view?

After several "friends" of the realtors get the best prices and can resell afterwards for much profit...

I hope that some substantial cultural facility/-ies will be added to this to give it a real "city" definition and dimension, like stage theatre / music centre or such.
Same thing for Brentwood and Metrotown, too. Brentwood will, apparently have loads of restaurants, and it would be nice to see a real cultural facility there and/or Lougheed.
Even a music library - a substantial one - can add more "education" to such town centres, rendering them more than just fancy high-rise and shopping/eating complexes.
I am sure they will all have conventional libraries, but it would be great if it were possible to add even more than that.

across the street from walmart there is a library and a community centre with daycare, a gym etc.

a movie theatre would be nice to have back in the area, silvercity is nice but its always so busy and without a car its not too easy to reach

As I've suspected, the buzz/excitement surrounding this project extremely pales in comparison to the Amazing Brentwood project. I am blaming it on the overpricing for the units

Hopefully they will make space for/encourage lots of live outdoor performances (e.g. busking).
