The best view of the downtown skyline. Too bad you've got to be on a boat to appreciate it.

I agree, I also find the best views are from the "far" east. You can catch this view from Île Charron which is easily accessible.

You only have to go to the parc de la Pointe-du-Marigot, in Longueuil, to enjoy this view. It's easily accessible by bike or even by car

Was it not taken from Charron island near the tunnel? If so, you don't need a boat to get there.

PS: Nevermind, someone already stated it.

Definitely not the best angle for the London Skyline.

More parking lots than I realised.

Also more evidence that topography is good.

Appreciate the London shot but certainly doesn't do the city's skyline justice.

Here's what the photographer (Anthony Maw) says about that 7 year old pic of Vancouver in the fog.

============

"Hollyburn Mountain View of Vancouver on a Foggy Day

Vancouver in the fog with Hurricane Hill, in Olympic National Park in Washington State, and 14,400 feet high Mount Rainier stratovolcano almost 300km (200 miles) in the distance, There was a temperature inversion over the entire region of the Earth for approximately one week when the air temperature was warmer at higher altitude and trapping cold damp air near the Earth's surface causing the dense blanket of fog that stretched from Vancouver to Seattle around the entire Georgia Strait and Puget Sound."

Here is a shot I posted earlier showing Mt. Rainier in the far distance taken from Grouse Mountain.
