I thought I'd heard at the time the geese sculpture was removed that it would only be temporary. The geese are supposed to come back.

It'll be interesting to see if the lights at Assiniboine E and UPD are on a camera censor so the Assiniboine traffic only gets a red if someone is there (similar to the ones at Arcola and Lacon).

When they were studying traffic for this light, the city put down count strips all the way from Ring Road to Prince of Wales. I suspect this is just about trying to slow down traffic. Totally agree that Assiniboine can be nasty gridlock, but there are a lot of vehicles that come off Ring Road, speed right through 4 way stop at Edinburgh and aren't close to 40 when they hit the school zone a block later. I don't know if this will help at all.

I drive that way almost everyday. Not once have I seen anyone speed through the 4 way stop, and almost every vehicle is going 40 by the school zone. I am traveling that way on my way home from work.

Plus the speed limit should be 60kph between UPD and the Ring Road anyway. The school zone is over 1km away and this is wide open stretch, with no homes or driveways, with a good shoulder/bike path and a ditch path plus all the people on one side are already dead.

The hotel on the corner of Parliament and Albert is already being reconstructed. They dismantled everything and even hauled to steel offsite so i thought maybe it was done. But the steel is already back up.

I live on this street and I see them speeding through. Maybe drivers are better on the commute but through the day, especially the school day, there is a lot of speeding in this school zone.

Apparently employees will be moving in when the FCC offices move back across the street. This makes sense now that the Conexus branch on main will be vacating that space. Anyone else hear this?

I've heard this too. They will also be putting up a logo on the building sometime in the winter.

I'm not a UFC fan; however, I hope Brandt builds a new larger hockey arena for not only hockey, but for other events as well. If that doesn't happen, then large-scale events will always bypass the Queen City and be hosted in Saskatoon.

Hopefully that'll happen; it'd be good for Regina/southern Sask.

Just a thought.

Agree completely. Especially if it moves to a better location.

If a new one is built at the railyards it can be walking distance from downtown, the Dewdney strip, and the transit station. Not only do I think attendance at Pats games would improve, but it would help spur investment in area.

Even better if it's privately financed.
