The proprietors behind Bone & Bowl are good people. For the time they operated, my understanding is that they met and/or exceeded expectations. I don't think Petsmart was much of a nail in their coffin, more a measure of timing and *apparently* an offer of lease takeover from the upcoming tenant.

I won't disclose who the new tenant may be, but my understanding is it's a health quick food restaurant with one other Vancouver location.

Also, 3 other updates:
1) The Opsal space at Quebec & 2nd is now sporting a "Starbucks Coming Soon" sign;
2) The Village presentation center has vacated it's space at Manitoba & West 1st. No indication of work or if they space has been leased but there are NOT any For Lease signs;
3) Work has begun on the Theatre space on West 1st in WCFC.

is that a sales centre they're building on the concert lands? the patch of grass next to meccanica is kinda odd. is it suppose to be a mini-park or something?

Yes, that is Concert's sale centre for "The Creek"

I think it is just general green space for the building. I wouldn't go on it. It's full of Meccanica resident's pet waste

^It's just temporary until the buildings south are redeveloped. Eventually Quebec Street will be widened with seperated bike lanes in each direction (ie. one on each side). You can see once the grass is removed, the sidewalks beside Central, Lido, Block 100 and Meccanica all line up.

From 2nd Ave it'll continue towards Terminal, and then presumably further down. The single-block section from Prior to Union already has seperated lanes in each direction.

The Maple Leaf storage south of West 2nd also has a similar setback.

That shot shows how Lido lies at the terminus / vista of the road parallel to Great Northern Way
- but I'll bet Lido wasn't designed to be viewed from that angle.

Likewsie, Meccanica lies along the GNW axis too.

Soon pee will kill that green patch, and perhaps the city will cover it with mulch or asphalt.

Do they? Meccanica has a huge setback, and the sidewalks for Lido and Central are already there and much closer to Quebec. Unless the whole street will be re-aligned? And room for a streetcar ROW too right?

Maybe it will all be more clear once The Creek starts happening.

For now I'm happy since our place is on that corner of Block 100 and I'll have a view down Quebec instead of directly into Meccanica.
