That leaf looks like it's from a Silver Maple, but it's red instead of yellow, so, no.

I'm curious, what kind of tree exactly is that? (If I don't hear back from you, I'll google it... I'm a bit of a tree fanatic, but obviously far from an expert on things that grow several thousand kms away.)

Is it a sugar maple? I know their not native to the west coast but I'm sure some must have been planted.
