So we get 4 buses this year from the money that TW saved from the caesars shuttle and 4 next year from the city funding.

What is the grey outline in front of the Augustus Tower? Are those the lines of what could potentially be built as the third hotel tower?

No,I wish it were. It's an ugly ass seniors building that has been there forever. I think they just tried to make it kind of disappear for their renderings, as it is blocking the view of the new tower. You can see which one it is if you look at a skyline shot taken from the river.

There is not a whole lot going on in downtown Windsor as far as private investment.

Farhi's Parking Garage

Hey I noticed Farhi's parking garage on Pitt street has the scafolding going up around it. If from what I hear is true they will be spending the first 4-5 months on the facade, and then start to work on the inside. the facade will be a cover of plate sheets. I am guessing kind of like the Media Plex down the road.

Oh good, I hope it's a decent facade, I hate that stucco so much. All I heard was that it was being renovated, nothing about what it will look like though.

Million Dollar

Wow they seem to really be going to work on the old Million Dollar Sallon. The whole front of the building if gone.

I noticed this today. The colour is very similar to what the garage is now, but is closer to the same colour as the tan panels on the bus station, and not dirty. The old stucco is dirty as well as falling apart.

I also noticed there's a new restaurant opening up where Micanto Pizzeria used to be next to Cheetah's. The new place is called El Patron Taqeatery

Hey everyone! I'm new here. I'm from Windsor (and plan to return), but I'm currently out of town for school.

WIndsor Star Sign

Hey Hey. I noticed while driving by the Windsor Star today that they have a small and I mean small portion of the bottom scroll up. It is the corner piece that faces north and west. It looks kind of funny with just the small piece up there. Hopefully the rest will go up soon.

Hey! At least we now know for sure that the scroll sign is going to be reality! I was worried they'd cheap out on it

Today I saw more old homes torn down in the core immediately east of the casino.

I also found a link talking about them.

I've been waiting for those houses to come down, they are such a blight to DT. Hopefully they don't put more ugly unpaved parking lots in their place.

They can't. The city passed a series of bylaws regarding parking lots downtown and that they must meet minimum standards set by the city. I believe the first bylaw came into effect regarding drainage, sewers and paving of the lots. That's why you see the lot on Riverside next to the casino now empty. The next bylaws that come into effect regarding lots I believe is later this year and stipulates that they must be closed in with some decorative fencing and must be paved.

The theory I think is if the city can't atleast get rid of the lots they can atleast enforce minimum standards with regards to how they look and I believe we're beginning to see that come into effect.

Most of this lot is now empty of cars.

That's what I thought too, but when I walked by last week, one of the parking lots was back open, mud and all, I was surprised to say the least.
