There's a thai place right in front of Hudson Park (sw corner of lyon/nepean). I'd like to see more 'international' restaurants here, it'd be nice.

There will be a sushi place coming soon, right next to the Thai restaurant across from Hudson Park.

They've driven down metal beams around the perimeter of Phase II. Excavation will come any minute.

I think there are limitations to the kind of restaurant you are allowed to have under mixed-use condo. A sushi place or a sandwich shop like Subway where they do little cooking is OK but anything more that involves a lot of raw ingredients and cooking fumes is out of the question. Beckta is better off where it is as they own that building.

Hmmm in the ads for 90 George aside from Newlook Eyeware and the salon, there is a "fine dining" place going in according to the ads.

Probably because it would be in the podium section with enough of a buffer zone. I know in the Exchange in Westboro there were strict by-laws as to what can go in the ground floor shops because apartments were directly above. I couldn't imagine living over a restaurant with greasy exhaust so the city must draw a line on certain types of food service.

The Mondrian with several levels of parking between the ground floor and the first apartments might be subject to different rules.

Went by the site the past weekend; they are installing the exterior wall on the first level, those white pre-cast concrete pieces:
