Well, me and my girlfriend push a bit more then 80k a year, and we had a tough time getting a mortage for our place @ 155K. (If we were to sell this place now, we would make a half decent profit)

Mind you, we didnt have much down, and my credit wasnt the best, and we have a few vehicle loans already

I think I see the city really trying to push this for young families, and soon to be young families.

^let's hope so...what i want to see in this city is some 500-700sqft condos which can handle a small family or 1st time buyer in the core or near LRT/BUS.......this is WHAT WE NEED>

Yeah, the market lately totally sucks for first time buyers. I would hate to have to start over now. I'm in a single income family of 3 and even with me making just over 80 grand it would be tough starting out. (and if you would have told me that I would be making over 80 even 5 years ago I would have thought I would be rich)

I'm just glad we built a place a year ago for just under 300. I couldn't afford the extra 100+ I would need to build it now.

Anyway, I'm a huge supporter of the new infill plans.

Man, these places will make a great turn around profit for any buyers who plan on selling these in a few years.

I believe they are to be rental units, for the "affordable housing" market.

Aurora - Apparently the DP will be filed for the first building (~23 floors) in a couple of months.

A new tower may be in the works for 124 Street and 102 Avenue (think Glenora Grill block).

The part of the Tabernacle that the City wishes to save is not the pyramid, they realize that it is too difficult of a structure to incorporate into a new building. It is the building immediately west of the pyramid that they are eager to retain.

CMD - this tower, would it be where the Glenora Grill/Glenora B&B is actually located, or just "somewhere" on that block? The Brick Glenora Grill building is on the "A" List of Historic Resources, so any proposal there will require City Council approval.
