Nice shot, seldom-featured vantage point. Or maybe its just because most shots are from the islands, not in front of the islands.

Trying to make that sound out loud and it’s kind of like if you had a stroke mid bowel movement.

I wonder about the purpose of the "grating" atop the two slender buildings on the left. It reminds me of a cheese or vegetable grater.

The ICE condos? Yeah I remember when they were first proposed there was a lot of discussion on their design which people seemed to find quite polarizing. Some thought it looked like pieces of Swiss cheese on top lol.

Would be a great shot of Edmonton but all my eyes see are over use of HDR processing and then the photo looks like it got severely downgraded resolution from the original format.

I was in Halifax for the first time earlier this year, it is such a beautiful city. I was absolutely floored by the amount of highrise construction I saw going on too. It reminds me a little bit of how the GTA felt back in the 2010s when highrise construction started to take off.

^ Glad you enjoyed the visit! And I totally agree I've noticed a lot of highrise construction activity as well.

Yeah, the Swiss cheese deal at the top is kinda strange. Not sure what its purpose is other than some kind of superfluous add on.

Is it Emmental or Gruyère?

It can be hard to convey what the city is like in photos because it doesn't have very dramatic buildings or scenery, but it does have a lot of street level urbanity, beauty, and character. The construction is similar in that there isn't a single spot or view that captures everything but there are many towers going up distributed over a large-ish area.

Since when do rooftop or crown elements need to serve a purpose? The roof elements are meant to tie in with the roof of the podium, linking the top of the towers to street level.
