Yeah. On the 16th floor facing Relevé, the windowless panels look awesome, but at the back, it it's not as nice. I get why they had to do it; because of the elevators are along that northern wall. They probably figure that the brick apartment blocks will eventually be replaced.

Surely there would be a way to put fake windows and have them look similar. The blank grey panels look pretty silly.

On the other side they have plain, flat dark grey panels that look great. Wish they would have done plain flat white panels instead of these grey panels with white frames.

Might not look too bad when it's all done. We'll see.

I'm surprised by how indifferent I feel toward this project. At this stage, I would have expected to be much more excited about it, but it really doesn’t spark much of a reaction for me. It almost feels like an infill rather than something that adds a lot of character or excitement.

I was, and still am, much more excited about the first phase Relevé and Odenak projects. Those feel much more distinctive and impactful.

That said, I hope i change my tune once it’s completed and reaches its full 35-storey height, especially depending on how the crown and final architectural details come together. Sometimes a building doesn’t fully reveal its impact until the finishing touches are in place.

With the crown that will features amenities for the residential tenants, it will actually be 36 floors!

Materials are nice. I think I prefer the pre-cast which gives a far better curve affect from up close than the panels on Relevé. The double height amenity and pool level should really elevate this one. It's too bad the north end is a lot of pre-cast panels, though I understand that they figure the two brick walk-ups will be replaced eventually.

Remember that upon completion, we'll also get he landscaped mid-block connection between Renaissance and Relevé.

I think the hotel portion should make this one that much more lively with tourists coming in and out of the lobby and the restaurant.

My opinion and excitement (or lack thereof at certain times) has yo-yo'd a lot over the last few years. I'm pretty excited at this point. I'm looking forward to seeing it all done and make a final judgement.

I'm pretty excited too. This one is tall enough that it will make a difference from a few angles. Particularly from the west, but also from the south. The skyline starts looking more like an actual skyline.

And as you point out, that area of downtown will be much more lively with the hotel. Lots of potential there.

It's interesting how Relevé II sticks out from many angles (coming down the Queensway at any angle, from LeBreton and visibly significantly taller than its surroundings when looking at it from the top of the Delta and Marriott), but becomes invisible from other angles (from Gatineau or the Parliamentary Precinct). Renaissance should be tall enough to be seen from just about anywhere
