Cool pictures, thanks.

What’s the tower crane on Fairview between Cole and Curtis?

I will say, all these medium, 4-7 story apartment buildings are honestly like the backbone for the boise urban vibe on my opinion.

Whenever I drive through Seattle, you can always tell how urban it is by all the middling, 8 story apartments that just thrive on the outskirts of the main skyscraper area. I’m glad Boise’s finally getting thee projects done!

Looks like they repainted the Hampton downtown.

I noticed them repainting it when I went down there Tuesday. It barely seemed to make a difference to the color at all.

I also went by the AC/Element and the Bannock then. The AC/Element’s scaffolding is finally coming down now, and the Bannock’s facade is about 75% complete on the apartment tower, and, similar to the vertical construction, they have not started on the office tower, at least what I could see of it.

Yeah, I drove by the Hampton yesterday. Interesting. Not sure if that’s a primer or if they’re actually going for a lighter color. Looking at the north side, it almost looked gray. Curious to see how it ends up, but anything’s better than that tan/brown they’ve got now.

According to the permit that they submitted, looks like they are painting it white/light gray and painting the trims a dark blue. I guess this is the year to repaint all the hotels downtown white.

Hey just to get some confirmation do we know the exact height the Ovation is planned to be. I've heard both 246' and 277' thrown around but I don't know which is official. Just wanting to edit the wiki page in case it's incorrect.
Also on the wiki note should we add topped out buildings like AC/Element and the Bannock to the ranking of tallest completed buildings? I see a lot of other cities doing it that way and highlighting the row a different color to indicate it isn't complete yet, so that's what I personally think we should do.

The last update as far as I can tell from late 2023 https://aca-prod.accela.com/BOISE/Cap/Ca...0HZ&agencyCode=BOISE&IsToShowInspection= had it listed at 246 feet. I don't know where the 277' number came from but I don't believe it is accurate.

Also, the permit is set to expire on the 19th. I assume that it is safe to say the Ovation is officially canned, unless they later decide to re-permit.

In other news, looks like the 11th and Front got the blessing from the planning and zoning commission (lots of discussion on bike storage and Front street closure due to construction). Hopefully this building's fate is better than the Ovation.

Ok, sad news about Ovation, I think that height is a great area that we need here to bridge the 61' gap. I will still update it though just in case.

At least we have good news about 11th and Front, I hope that doesn't fail like Boise Place did 15 years ago, because we really need that 400 footer to push taller development in the city to reach a point where, ideally, we have 15 buildings over 200', 6 buildings over 300', and 2 over 400'. So hopefully this gets finished.

I always thought it would look great if they painted the US Bank tower white. It would look like the little brother to the US Bank tower in San Francisco.

Huh I guess they both look quite similar, especially if the Boise one was white. Though I think I prefer its natural brown brick color. I'm fine with the Hampton getting repainted. It's kind of an ugly building, personally.

Everywhere I have read has the Sherman Tower (Coeur d'Alene Resort Tower #2) in Coeur d'Alene at 15 floors, not 16. 190 feet height is correct.

Thank you for the info! I will update it now. Also, do you by chance know the height of lake tower?

So with the Ovation getting axed, is it possible we see any other new tall buildings proposed? Maybe any rumors floating around?
