We are blessed to have Carney as a leader. This is a man that was predominantly responsible for allowing Canada to escape the Great Recession 2008-10 relatively unscathed, and tops in the G7. Harper was so impressed that he offered Carney a spot on his cabinet.

Then he was put in control of guiding the UK in the aftermath of their ill-advised BREXIT movement out of the EU. Once again, he did an excellent job. Now he is in for his biggest challenge- navigating Canada away from dependence on a very unstable Government to the south of us, and veering us to new and expanded trade relations with the rest of the World.

It's too early to see how he will perform in Parliament, but he certainly has rejuvenated the Liberal Party back from the abyss. The only Canadian leader I really liked better, was Jean Chretien.

It's not clear. It seem all non China tariffs might be down to 10% or maybe aluminum Steel are still at 25%. Autos too. It's strategy on the back of a napkin.

I lived and worked in Alberta for 15 years. Danielle Smith and Pierre Poilivere are cut from the same cloth. If they want to board the Titanic south of us, that is their choice. Just don't expect real Canadians to follow.

I suspect only the LIberation Day tariffs were rolled back to 10%. So the Auto, Steel, Aluminum, Softwood lumber and other tariffs specific to Canada and Mexico are still fully in effect.

Which would also mean our counter Auto tariffs should be holding as well.

The market roller coaster was beginning to scare the megadonors down south, and they started screaming, which is probably what led to this sudden u-turn today.

The fact that treasury yields were going up rather than down as they had predicted might have led to them blinking and reversing as the prospect of stagflation plus high borrowing costs would be catastrophic for them.
