With the huge shift in polling the last month we might see some impossibles happen.

There's a Regina seat that could theoretically go Liberal. It would rely on an NDP collapse, but today's poll kind of suggest that's happening.

Most notable is that there are now just 2 cabinet ministers west of Thunder Bay and none in Ab/Sk/PEI. Conversely he did add a post from London. Not a major one but at least he acknowledges that not everyone in Ontario lives in the GTAH. Ontario had 16 cabinet posts and all but 2 where from the GTAH and none from KW/Nia/Lon/Win. I think this shows how he intends to win the election much like Trudeau's father................sweep Ont/Que/AC and just let the Western Canadian chips fall where they may.

It will still be a race but the clear loser in either a Tory or Liberal gov't will be the NDP as much of the surge in Liberal support has been due to the plunge in the NDP. Singh, by not bringing down Trudeau when he had the chance, has taken the NDP down to near irrelevance and it's a fate they justly deserve.
I think he plans on running in an Edmonton or even the NWT riding. If we wins the election and his own seat, he’ll probably put the problems of not having enough western cabinet ministers to rest.

I'm really skeptical that the Liberal "lead" lasts. But that said, PP has been going on and on about Trudeau and the Carbon Tax for so long, that I literally can't picture him talking about anything else. Meanwhile, the Death Star is on the horizon and he's still substantially stuck on partisan messaging. I do think Poilievre will eventually pull it off. But it won't be pretty.

Those polls are clearly showing a Carney Leadership bump, so they likely aren't sustainable. But PP can't be happy to see those numbers, considering his little mantras are all dead now.

It'll be good to see next week's polls, to see how the dust settles and Carney has to start governing before going before Parliament (if he doesn't dissolve it first)

He has sort of hinted, but it would be a huge risk.

It only needs to last for about two months, at which point we'll have a new government.

Ralph Goodale would probably win the riding back this year, as old as he is. I’m sure Carney will be bound to run into him in London, as Goodale is currently serving as the Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Getting rid of the carbon tax, follow by this European tour seems to be a great start for Prime Minister Carney’s first week in office.

It’s definitely the first time in history that a Canadian Prime Minister will be visiting the United Kingdom as a former Governor of the Bank of England.

Not too impressive on first glance (1 game/6 minutes) but impressive enough to make the team at a level that several future minor league and Euro pros were on that team

We say Never Again to the LPC

If you think ordinary Canadians buy into the "Israel is the victim" myth, then you are out of touch with most Canadians (especially ones under 35), who are more sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians. Consistently portraying yourself as victims may work in MAGA circles, but it's not going to fly here (or anywhere else in the World).

The Israelis are not the good guys in this war. Also, using the Holocaust slogan "never again" after 17 months of trying to eradicate an ethnic group is tone-deaf.

Today is the first day since this US kerfuffle began where I have seen a path for Pierre.

My thought was if this election is about Trump, Carney wins. If it isn't and some of the rhetoric dies down and we get back to the issues from before, Pierre wins.

He's not 100 percent but he was much better today than the last few times I've seen him. I don't know if the ground is shifting but his messaging seemed more on point today even though it's the same messaging as before.

I feel like now people don't seem to be losing their shit over Trump as much as before. If we basically ignore him or take a tack like the UK and Mexico we can just wait him out. He's just saying his shit to get us to defeat ourselves and hand him the booty over our own self created rubble.

We can win the PR battle by having others do the fighting for us, especially if protests against Trump ramp up in the US.

One thing I noticed today at his news conference was that the first question seemed to be biased for him. I have no clue who asked it but it sounded like Rebel News BS to me. I have no patience for left or right partisan "reporting"

I guess I missed it, Carney just had his 60th birthday.

Mark my words, I've called out others before it was polite to do so, but my first impression of his wife is she's a little diff (as we used to say)

I won't be afraid to say if I'm wrong

I don't people are overly concerned about winning the PR battle. The concern is jobs, economic downturn, and if the vague "51 st" turns from noise into something concrete.

Most Canadians are ok lousing the PR battle in the US as long as we preserve our way of life.

I agree with you. I guess by "PR battle" I meant sympathy from the US media/population where their "pushback" against Trump will do the work for us and we won't have to reply or retaliate to the Trump BS.

If Trump wants to take a W over something stupid and we maintain the status quo, great, take the dub Don, congratulations.

If Carney and the Liberals win the election, they should thank Elon Musk.

Is his wife running for PM?

What about Anaida and her lies about her real estate or that the conspiracy groups Pierre courted threatened her and her ties to Venezeulan cartels and her being the real reason Pierre won't get his security clearance - any impressions you care to share about her and perhaps why it matters?
