Hey everyone! Been a while. Been busy with work and life, but finally had a chance to stop by the site, though only had my phone. Thanks goodness for RAW functionality. These are from last Thursday so they're a bit old.

Also, has anyone noticed they closed up the gap in the parking deck screening deck across the channel

The base of the tower is now visible from the South Lakefront. I remember seeing a rendering from this vantage point but can’t seem to find it. Anyone remember where that was and can repost?

From this vantage point, do we think this tower is going to line up with Vista's middle setback?

That'll add some great balance to the skyline. It's going up quick!

If SSP's diagram of Vista is correct, the appearance of 400 N LSD in that segment of the video is over-scaled by quite a bit.

According to the diagram, Vista's upper setback is right around the 860' mark, which is very close to the 859' height figure we've heard for 400 N LSD.

When I try to visualize 400's skyline impact, I generally just reference One Bennett Park and add another floor or two in my mind.

Same.

Unfortunately this building isn't going to make much of a overall skyline impact.

This is one to be viewed mainly from the lake looking west or navy pier or from the river. Hopefully some great views from the riverwalk as well.

The view from Dusable Park should be stunning though.

I made another mockup haha. This is fun

This is as accurately I can guess-- this is assuming 859ft, approximately the height of St Regis's highest setback, ±10ft. There's some perspective distortion here, but not a huge amount at this distance/focal length.

Nice work!

This feels quite accurate given that 400 Lakeshore is closer than OBP and a lil' bit taller.

It's one of those buildings with a nice design and alright height that will be great for the immediate area but not much for the skyline overall.

Lake entrance angle will be a bit better I guess.

Correct me if I’m wrong but in most cities outside New York and Chicago this would the tallest or second tallest.

In the USA, North America or the world?

Not even quite true just in the US.

Counting U/C and completed buildings, LA, Houston, Philly, Miami, Austin and maybe SF too have more than one higher building just off the top of my head.

According to SSP's diagrams (including U/C), 400 N LSD, at 859' tall, would be:

4th tallest in Philly, Houston, Miami
3rd tallest in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin
2nd tallest in San Francisco, Seattle, Cleveland, Charlotte
1st tallest in all other US cities not named Chicago or NYC.
