Riverside Resources and MML Hospitality have secured a $193M construction loan on the project. It will include 50k SF of luxury retail and restaurant space, a 57-room boutique hotel (run by MML Hospitality) and 10 residential units - which have a starting price of $10M and average 4,600 SF each.

The residential units have a 2Q2027 target delivery date.

The buildings were demolished recently. W 6th along this stretch down to one lane at the moment.

Financing secured for Class A multifamily development in Austin

AUSTIN, Dec. 2, 2024 –  JLL Capital Markets announced today that it has secured construction financing for Far West Apartments, a 321-unit, Class-A multifamily community in Austin, Texas.

Far West Apartments, a substantial 282,609 net-rentable square-foot development, will offer a diverse range of living spaces, including studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, with an average unit size of 880 square feet. Residents will enjoy many community amenities, including a clubroom, fitness center, pet spa, conference room, and a resort-style swimming pool. The project is scheduled to commence full operations in April 2027.

Are there any development lists for Austin I can find anywhere? I am trying to add some projects to my 3D devmaps and I am not sure where to start as Austin has tons of projects.

?

Also, there appear to be at least a couple of buildings in Rainey that are missing. Can -you- guess those? ;-)

Spot on, no but I can tell there a plenty of missing projects. That area is a lot buffer than what the map shows. I will have to add existing buildings to this. Looks like Austonian is missing too. I have a ton of research to do as it comes to Austin, next will be Dallas. I will have to familiarize myself.

Still a damn shame the city didn't make it into a park or something. I know that was probably impossible, but it was a fun place that gave the city character, and drew people to this neighborhood.

A student housing building in downtown Austin is being converted into a hotel. Demolition has already begun at "The G," a property that is being transformed into a 185-room Tru by Hilton hotel, according to Ron Pope, a partner at TAG International and the architect of the project.

The decision to convert the 10-year-old building is partly due to changes in the surrounding area, including the construction of the new Travis County courts facility across the street and the boom in student housing closer to the University of Texas campus. The G, located at 1715 Guadalupe St., is owned by United Capital LLC. Demolition began in September, and crews are gutting the building down to its concrete structure before rebuilding it as a hotel.


The new hotel will have rooms on the top six floors of the nine-story building. The top level of the existing parking garage will be redesigned to include a lobby with a bar, lounge, gym, and reception area. Flynn Construction is overseeing the project, which is expected to be completed by March 2026.
