All tickets from row 'P' to the roof should be $10.

I wonder what would be involved in taking them out along both the east and west sides and adding some number to the north end and perhaps double-decking those at the south end to partially make up at least part of the difference.

The poor views from the upper bowl are as far down as Row 'F'. From Row 'F' half of the clock is blocked by the underside of the skyboxes and the poor quality images on the back of the skyboxes of action on the ice / court can't be seen because it is directly above the row.

There should be large high def screens on the back of the skyboxes. The screens should alternate with one showing play/replays etc. and the next screen showing the entire clock so stats can be seen in the cheap seats that cost the same as regular seats.

Even if this necessary change were to be made, Row 'F' still has an obstructed view of the clock.

We are not alone with our obstructed views:

No longer a have-not city so we must suffer through the predatory fees and practices that are TicketMaster!

Just seeing and hearing the words ticket master makes my blood boil. I can't think of anything nice to say, other than perhaps, being on their radar we may see bands, groups that otherwise may have skipped Halifax.

Following a four-year closure, it appears the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame will soon re-open in (or at least adjacent to) the Scotiabank Centre. At a news conference yesterday, the HOF's Bruce Rainnie announced that construction will begin soon on an expansion that will increase the floor space of the facility by 50 per cent. RCS Construction will do the build. The province is kicking in $2.5 million toward the $4.5 million cost. There's not much detail about where the rest is coming from.

The HOF announced two years ago that it had reached an agreement with Armco Capital for more space at 1800 Argyle Street, the former World Trade and Convention Centre. While the location is certainly convenient for those attending events at Scotiabank Centre, the Hall previously had very little street presence, nor was it very accessible. Rainnie promises that will change, with a rebuilt entrance off Carmichael Street and an elevator.

Rainnie promises that, when complete, the renovated facility will be the finest provincial sport hall in Canada. There's no date set for re-opening.

^^^ That is such an awful entrance. I used to work there and trudged up those steps far too many times and then had to try to avoid the smokers who used to hang out there in the alcove. I assume that has now changed. Still, while the steep grade there is always going to be challenging, that whole side needs a full redesign for better accessibility if nothing else.

Not much has changed. It is still and dank and uninviting entrance (mind you, all of the Scotiabank Centre entries are cramped and uninviting). The smokers still hang out, perhaps just a little farther from the doors. A visit to the Avenir Centre in Moncton, with its spacious forecourt and lobby (and escalators!) is a reminder of how deficient the Scotiabank Centre is in this regard.
