I drove by that area a few months ago. On a weekend, the parking lot SE corner of 105A and 101, the site was one massive homeless camp. It was so taken over, cars couldn't safely be parked there. Not seeing the draw to the restaurant site when there have to be dozens and dozens of other vacant options elsewhere downtown that are far more... family friendly?

• The Boyle St homeless shelter was demolished
• New development has sprung up from the EPCOR site
• Capital Tower is being renovated
• The building on the SW corner was repainted with more bright cheerful colors
• Asian eatery called One01 Bistro opened
• Japanese Village is coming soon
• Just 1 or 2 blocks away is Rogers Place, which recently played host to the Stanley Cup finals

Let the gentrification continue!

Fawkes Coffee on 104 St. is 5 weeks from fully opening as per the owner. It is going to be open until at least 10 PM most days which is awesome as there are very few, if any, coffee shops Downtown that are open past 5 PM.

So many good things with O'Byrne's opening downtown.

1. They knocked out a large vacant space. Nice to have another 'pub' option in this part of downtown.

2. They are a well-known name which will attract a lot of people outside the daytime crowd.

3. Extends the food and beverage offerings along 'Oilers Way'.
