here´s a view from the 57th floor that is also part of the roof at about 900 feet (Again the building has a total of 57 floors not 53, the top office is 51, I don`t know where the 53 figure comes from)

You know a building is "done" when you treat/see it as a part of daily life... You get used to seeing it as a part of the skyline... Not just a brand new building...

that is exactly what this building has become...

But if this thread stays up... i don't mind...

It's nice to see some excellent shots by you guys

How is a building done when most of the windows are in place and most of the lights are working? This forum is way too quick to move stuff out of the construction category just because it looks complete from most angles, even though there's usually still a good amount of work to be done, e.g. interior finishing, placing windows where hoists were, base work/landscaping, ect.

Is the metric for deciding this stuff based only on appearance and not functionality? If so I'd say that's pretty shallow.

Anyway, here's one from last night:

Never. Extravagant, full-building lighting is something that would only fly in Hong Kong or Shanghai, whereas NYC style lighting is all about the crown.

I'm afraid times are changing my friend, that's not bad, it will be a mix of both old and new! The really cool thing about the BOA's lighting is that it expands as it goes higher! It reminds me a lot of the Bank of China in Hong Kong which has a spire reaching at about 1,200 feet and to the roof it is roughly 900 to 1,000 feet. Also, both buildings have a modern lighting scheme. Just some cool figures I thought would be cool to point out... ;)

I believe 4WTC will have full-building lighting, but I'm not sure. Technically BOA does have crown lighting since the majority of the lighting scheme is toward the upper portion of the building. Anyway, this buildings just keeps getting better and better with every passing day!

Just ignore those moronic post. The building will officially be completed early next year (a matter of months) but I'm certain we will be moving it to the completed section soon.

I still would like to see a lighted spire go with the lighting scheme...

You know, Asia may me be massive and booming, but no city packs a punch quite like this one. Those last few pictures literally seem as though they are living things to me. You can feel the intense, unabashed life that New York manages to contain within itself, the very quality it is famous for, amongst other things, of course. There's something about those photos that make you see and feel what it's like to be in this city, in New York, how fantastical and unreal an experience it can be. Stunning! ...the best part is that there is still so much more to come.
 I'm ready...

Awesome updates everyone! Some of the best updates of this tower ever!!! I see everyday they are getting closer to completion.

Also, the video from the ironworker on the spire was more like 1,100 feet up because it looked to be only about 20 feet lower than the top of the antenna on the Conde Naste Tower and above the observatory of the 86th floor observatory on the Empire State Building...

I second that! The same holds true for the IDS Tower in Minneapolis. Even though the highest office floor is the 51st floor. There are 6 mechanical/private floors above it and the official number of floors of the building is 57 floors. The title should be changed to 58 floors. ;)

I arrived in New York yesterday and saw this tower up close today from Bryant Park. It's very impressive. I will add some photos once I download them from my camera.

Its size is really apparent from a distance. Coming in on the A from JFK on Wednesday night, I noticed there was a point where only ESB, Chrysler, Citigroup were visible.

From Newark Libery Int'l, it is the most noticable building in Midtown by far right behind the Empire State Building if not the only other one.
