Stausberg is situated on the east bank of Ostrich Lake (German: Straussee). In Strausberg there is since 1714 military stationed and since World War II the town has housed important military commands.
In spite of the fact, that Strausberg is a fairly small town, the town has its own tram.
The overhead line ferry over Ostrich Lake is unique. Its 369 meters long overhead wire span across Ostrich Lake has the longest span of all lines used for power supply of vehicles in the world. |
