Chizhou, subordinate to Anhui Province, is located on the south bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It borders Tongling in the east, Mount Huangshan Mountain in the south, Anqing across the river in the north, Lushan Mountain in the west, and Jiujiang, Jingdezhen, and Shangrao City in Jiangxi Province. The area is 8399 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 1.328 million as of the end of 2022. It has jurisdiction over Guichi District, Dongzhi, Shitai, and Qingyang counties, as well as Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area, Wanjiang Jiangnan Emerging Industry Concentration Zone, and National Chizhou Economic and Technological Development Zone.
