Holzgerlingen is a municipality and town in the district of Böblingen. The city is situated in a clearing in the Schönbuch, a large forested area southwest of Stuttgart in the südwestdeutsches Schichtstufenland (Southwestern German Escarpment Landscape). It is also located 9 km south of the city of Böblingen at the head of the Aich River, a tributary of the Neckar.
