Tholen is a municipality and city in the far southwest of the Netherlands. The city is located on two islands, and seperated by the bay of Krabbenkreek. To the east, it is cut off from the mainland by the very thin Eendracht, formerly a branch of the River Scheldt, now part of the Scheldt-Rhine Canal. To the south lies the Oosterschelde, an estuary.
