Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture
Xishuangbanna is located at the southern end of Yunnan Province, China, connected to Laos and Myanmar by mountains and rivers, and neighboring Thailand and Vietnam. It has a land area of nearly 20000 square kilometers and a border of 966 kilometers. She is beautiful, rich, magical, like a shining pearl embedded in the southwestern border of our motherland. The Lancang River runs north-south and is called the Mekong River after exiting. It flows through five countries, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and empties into the Pacific Ocean. It is known as the "Danube of the East". Therefore, Xishuangbanna is not only an important channel and base facing Southeast Asia and South Asia, but also a gateway for Yunnan's opening up to the outside world. Xishuangbanna governs Jinghong City, Menghai County, Mengla County, and 11 state-owned farms, with a total population of nearly 840000 people. There are 13 ethnic minorities living here, including Dai, Hani, Lahu, Bulang, and Jino, accounting for 74% of the state's population. For a long time, they have thrived on this land, making their own contributions to the development of the motherland's territory, the creation of the country's long history and splendid culture
