Langfang is located in the central eastern part of Hebei Province, adjacent to the capital Beijing to the north; Dongjiao Tianjin; South to Cangzhou; To the west is Baoding, located in the core area of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomeration and the hinterland of the Bohai Sea. Langfang City is a provincial administered city in Hebei Province, currently governing 6 counties (Xianghe, Dachang, Yongqing, Gu'an, Wen'an, Dacheng), 2 county-level cities (Sanhe, Bazhou), 2 municipal districts (Guangyang, Anci), 1 national level economic and technological development zone, and Langfang Airport Economic Zone. Langfang was once a fiefdom of Yan during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. On December 13, 1948, Langfang was liberated. In 1958, rural areas across the country were replaced by communes, and Langfang Town was merged into Langfang Commune. In 1974, it was renamed Langfang area. In 1975, Langfang Commune was transferred to Langfang Town. On March 1, 1982, with the approval of the State Council, Langfang Town was renamed Langfang City (county-level).
