Nanning, abbreviated as "Yong" or "Green City", is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, located in the central southern part of Guangxi. Facing Southeast Asia, backed by the Southwest, adjacent to Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to the east, and facing the Beibu Gulf to the south. Nanning was originally part of the Baiyue region. In the sixth year of the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty (632 AD), it was renamed Yongzhou and the Yongzhou Governor's Office was established. The abbreviation of Nanning, "Yong," came from this.
