Yinchuan is a prefecture level city and capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Crossing the Yellow River to the east, it borders Yanchi County in Wuzhong City and Etuoke Front Banner in Inner Mongolia; Located west of Helan Mountain and adjacent to Alxa League in Inner Mongolia; Connected to Litong District and Qingtongxia City in Wuzhong City to the south; It is connected to Pingluo County in Shizuishan City to the north. The total area is 9025.38 square kilometers. Yinchuan City, "Yinchuan" as an ancient place name, first appeared in the "Geographical Records" of the New Book of Tang: "Yinchuan County, Yinzhou". On January 1, 1929, the Ningxia Provincial Government was established, with its capital located in Ningxia City. In October 1958, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was established, with Yinchuan City as the capital and the political, economic, and cultural center of the autonomous region.
