Description This 200 million dollar fiasco, designed to relieve pressure on the old and overcrowded Belmont High in downtown LA was constructed on the site of an abandoned oil field. Halfway through its construction, it was found that the site was severely toxic, forcing construction to be stopped. Later on it was discovered that part of the structure sits on top of a fault line. No completion date has been set.
In mid 2003, plans were made to demolish two of the buildings that sit on the fault line, and replace them with new structures. The remaining buildings are planned to be completed. No date is given.
