Architect of redesign: Allied 31 Design + LYA

Opened in 1999 as Golden Plaza.

February 26th, 2005, because of a fire disaster in the building it was closed.

May 2013, Royal Seasons Hotel bought the building and started rebuilding it.

August 29th, 2022, the building reopened as Le Méridien Taichung.
