- This church was designated the cathedral church of the Lansing Diocese in 1937.

- This church is a classic example of the Late Gothic Revival style of architecture.

- The church's cornerstone was laid on July 4, 1911, and the church was officially dedicated on 8th December, 1913.

- The basement level of the building contains the church crypt, an additional chapel, and a church museum.

- The church underwent a signficant and extensive exterior and interior renovation in 1968 designed by Mayotte-Webb Architects, with the interior redesign by architect Robert Rambusch.
