Hi all - long-time viewer, first-time poster. Emblem has updated their website to include this site as the next project - http://www.emblemdevcorp.com/projects/design-district

The community is going to be called 'TheDesignDistrict41' and includes furnishings by Gucci. Quite a leap forward for Hamilton.

Great first post. Looks like a ton of marketing-mumbo jumbo there. Good to see sales launching though.

Welcome to the forums.

Also a side from demo they've been doing some other early works including some other excavation just east of the church. Sorry for the picture quality the is a super cropped drone shot.

Kinda weird that it looks like cars are still using the lot.

If any other Emblem developments are an indication, construction is likely imminent. I'm willing to bet in the next month. Similar timeline for 1 Jarvis. Once pre-sales started, the construction equipment was basically on site.

is this still going with the 3 identical triplets 30-storey commieblock style design? or has it been revised now that interiors will be done in conjunction with...Gucci

I don't expect anything about these to be commieblocks.

What does furnishing even mean? Also eh, Gucci to me is kind of trashy, not really high quality or that nice. Even if I had that kind of money, I wouldn't really buy the brand on purpose. Like are the wallpaper going to have the logo repeated endless times in gold leaf?

I mean the whole thing is a bunch of marketing mumbo-jumbo. Just look at the description:

Quote:
Miami, New York, and London are defined by Landmarks. The time is now for the next Landmark to be born. The Design District will forever change not only Hamilton but Toronto as well. EMBLEM is unveiling their latest commitment to exceeding expectations.
I mean Hamilton is clearly not on the same level of Miami, NYC, or London.. and that's fine, too. Nor will these buildings exactly be iconic, even if they are tastefully designed and generally attractive.

Also, how in the world will this building "forever change" Toronto lol? It's it's over 50km from the city. Clearly an attempt to tie the project to the Toronto condo market (likely smart marketing.. doesn't mean it makes any sense)

"The time is now for the next Landmark to be born"... Landmark Place, your time is done.

Aside from inventing a 'design district' here the marketing people are probably trying to capture interest in Gucci from the recent film, too.

This is in front of the CoA next month, with updated architectural plans and a new rendering. Looks like mostly tweaks in the design since the DRP saw the project:

Not enough clashing and Christmas colours to give me Gucci vibes… thankfully.

Kidding aside I'm just glad to see hundreds more residents coming to downtown Hamilton. With each one of these 30-storeys built, the core of Hamilton becomes a little more vibrant with the additional residents
