BIRMINGHAM (AL) | The Block | 667? FT | 48 FLOORS

this proposal came out of nowhere last night... i'll remain cautiously optimistic about it. birmingham hasn't had a significant skyscraper in decades.

this would be the tallest in the city and the 2nd tallest in the state (behind mobile's RSA Tower at 745 ft).

article:
New $250m skyscraper, The Block, proposed for 2nd Ave N Birmingham

Love Birmingham but that website looks like a class project, stocks photos everywhere. Wouldn't hold my breath...

Just .

A city that carries a ball in the shape of a mid-1980's Southern skyline and deliberately stays put with it for 40 years has no business running with it using such an example of hypermodernity.

Looks like someone had fun playing with blocks.
