DAYTON, Ohio - Breaking Mad

We've seen Cleveland and Cincinnati and Columbus here. Now let's take a look at the center of Ohio's fourth-largest metropolitan area, where the Great Miami and Mad rivers meet.

Here's Dayton.

nice job -- i think i'll pick #19 as my favorite, i've noticed that view before, but never got a shot of it. it a pretty cool type of all in one mix of bldgs that i like.

i also like seeing tennis courts going in and of course all the rest of the riverfront improvements, looks great.

yeah, we get plenty threads of the big three c cities in ohio, but its rare we get any threads of the next three red-headed step-sisters (for non-ohioans those being akron and toledo as well as dayton).

BN and I know each other. He's being a bit facetious. It did make me look to see when was the last time a Dayton thread has gone up. It's been a bit.

Yes, that view from #19 near the bus hub downtown is a good one.

^ oh i didnt realize that, but i knew what he meant - its kind of an old ohio threads joke we all have, that being that there are never enough non-3c's threads. could just as easily be oh, thats what akron or toledo, etc. looks like too!

Ohio's got more brick than a Shaquille O'Neal free throw shooting clinic.

Does Dayton still do that fountain and laser light show over the Miami river at sundown? The first thing that always comes to mind for me when I think of Dayton is the Air Force Museum... it truly is spectacular. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like they do, from May to October after Dayton Dragons games at Fifth Third Field. I'll definitely check this out when it happens. I landed here right at the end of baseball season in September.

Wright-Patterson and the Air Force museum are still around, too. Have yet to actually go to the museum.

So all the people I know from Dayton who tell me quickly "it's just like Akron" when I ask them about their hometown aren't telling me the truth? Excellent Job.

Enjoyable tour of Dayton. Some beautiful old buildings downtown. I missed this angle when I was last there, love the shot (all the levels):

Thanks.

Looks nice. I always think of Dayton as being small, but it's impressive in those photos.
