Logan Photo Update 10/23

Back in Cache Valley for the weekend. I managed to photo some of the significant projects being built. (10/15/2023)

Fire Station:

Logan regional hospital expansion:

Logan Library:

Carol and Jim Laub Plaza (Center Block Plaza):

Utah State University

Center for Art Education and Research:

Global Teaching and Learning Center:

New Business Building, Housing, Utility Tunnel, and Parking Structure:

LDS Institute:

Biology and Natural Resources Renovation:

East Campus Office Building (To be replaced):

A little opinion: I really have a gripe with USU's design decisions. They created a beautiful master plan in 2002 that they have not followed a single aspect of. Every building looks great independently but clashes with the style of every building around it. In addition to this, every project gets massively cut back before it even leaves the ground. There's no direction to any of it. They should be drafting a new master plan soon, which won't matter because they won't follow it.

USU Housing Master Plan

This plan came out a couple years ago, though it is relevant to a lot of the work on USU's campus right now.

Logan Regional Hospital Update

Intermountain Logan Regional Hospital shared a construction update on Facebook.

Quote:
We're super excited to update you on our new patient tower construction project, set to open its doors in June 2024! Here's a sneak peek at what you can expect:
First Floor: Features a new, welcoming lobby, an expanded café, and specialized areas for education, respiratory care, nuclear medicine, EKG, clinical nutrition, and a simulation lab.
Second Floor: Houses another inviting lobby, along with the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Transitional Care Unit (TCU).
Third Floor: Dedicated to pediatrics and a combined medical/surgical unit.
Stay tuned for more updates! We're gearing up for a fun family event in June to celebrate the opening of our tower. This is going to be an extraordinary celebration that truly reflects the heart and spirit of our amazing community!

Free travel between Cache Valley and the Wasatch Front? Public funding could help make it happen.

The Utah Legislature gave a $5 million boost that will help the Cache Valley Transit District finish a new facility and expand service around northern Utah.
