I've noticed that the empty lot, between Personal Auto & Tire and Expert Auto on 451 Rothesay Avenue now has a Linsay construction trailer, storage shed, sign and toilet set up. Anybody know if they are in the process of building something on this lot that has been empty for as long as I can remember? The trailer has steps indicating that it is about to go in use.

Also, the new commercial building under construction, near the Irving on the old Rothesay Road, is nearing finish, with only the interior needing finishing up:

I understood that, but Whaler said ANOTHER subway ? I was just wondering if I was missing something because I think it's the -only- Subway on Bayside?

I'm guessing what he meant was "another Subway in the city, on Bayside Drive", rather than "another Subway on Bayside Drive".

There is a sign that has popped up at that location showing a strip mall containing three retail spots along with a Pro Oil Change service station.

Plazacorp has a Phase III for their Fairville Plaza development. Based on the sq. footage, it looks like it's big enough for only one larger type store (e.g. the size of a Shoppers - NOT saying it will be a Shoppers based on the Lancaster location being just down the road :o)

Here's the link, but it doesn't provide any details...

Canadian Tire East to update to new format

Canadian Tire East will change ownership in early August and the new owner will immediately undergo renovations and updating to the new Canadian Tire format. Corporate planners have already begun developing the new design.

Is that a new new format? Or is there a store in SJ that isn't the Big Red Triangle format?

One would assume the West SJ location that opened last year is an example of the "new format".

Yes indeed. Similar to the Canadian Tires West side Saint John and Two Nations Crossing in Fredericton. A store in a store style with departments taking on more display selling. A total revamp and reno.

That location was for the new Princess Auto. Northrop came in and stole them away. As you may know they are building at Eastpoint.
Not sure if anything has been planned at this location yet?

Saint John construction update

The Pro Oil Change location is finally under construction, while the Princess Auto is now roofed in, more or less;

Does anyone know what's going on at the old Petro Can location on the corner of McAllister Dr and Loch Lomond Rd? Another gas station? Looked like they may have been digging holes for the underground tanks..

That's exactly what it is, it'll be a gas station with a Scholtens branded convenience store - the application went through PAC a few months ago.
