For the love of Almighty God, please give the Inga thing a rest people. She's a critic. Criticizing is what critics do, albeit with more or less negativity than others. I read her with interest, but, as with films, I don't decide what to like or dislike based on what she has to say. Now let's switch to something more on topic, like tomorrow's Eagles game....

I disagree and wish I had the time to write a proper critique of your criticism of those who are criticizing our local architecture critic.

This thread is way off topic. Any posts after this not related to the W/Element construction will be deleted without question. So don't even bother typing or you'll be wasting your time.

Guess the bold type did the trick...

There seems to be a lot of underground stuff slowing them down over there. Another drilling rig is on site now so the pace should pick up for placing the beams for shoring. They are still removing old columns from the site. Several are piled up near SE corner of the site and they were working on breaking out another one when i was there. A ton of wood has been dropped off for the shoring.

Maybe Blenfest has become a Mormon to absorb all of this cost, and not turn the site into a W motel instead (think 1601 Vine).

I'm sorry. I'm not making fun, BUT,
This site has been reminding me of the character "Vern" from "Stand By Me".
He still hasn't located his pennies he buried under the porch.

^That's actually my favorite movie! What are they digging up, isn't there something down there from what ever was there before? If so then they might actually find some pennies... and old ones that wont be corroded! Anyway that would be my guess as to why they are taking a while to do it because I saw it in another post. I like this one!

Once they finish, everything will be so loosely packed if they lined up enough trucks they can haul it all away in one day. Won't that be an amazing before/after when it happens?!

slow and steady wins the race I guess. Never thought they still wouldn't be digging after so many months.

Well, if they can do it, let's show them we can do it too! (At least it will pass the time away, while they're trying to start "really digging"! (have fun!)

They had better make some substantial progress soon. If I was an investor I would not be happy. OTOH, it has a scheduled completion date of 2018, and it shouldn't take 2+ years to build, so maybe some of this work was factored in.

I tell you what, if one of the subcontractors is messing around on this job, there is no way they will get over on Blenfest:

Blenfest: how come I got charged triple on that underground pipe removal, and how come it's taken 4 days instead of one day like you said initially?

Sub: Gee, Blenfest, it was just a really tough hole. Sorry bro, it is what it is.

B: Right . . . . hold on a sec [makes some taps on i-phone] . . . Ah, OK, here we go . . .

S: ??? [face screws up into nonplussed expression]

B: Yup, shows here on SSP you dug and refilled that hole 3 times in the last two days, bro. Doesn't look like you really know what you're doing. My trusty crowd sourced skyscraper nerd site-inspectors are on you like outlaws on hookers. So: I'll pay you for the first hole; rest are on you. Now get'er done before I prosecute your ass. Next!

S: erp! [clutches portfolio case nervously, has turned pale]

the construction manager is responsible for overall cost and schedule, if this is taking longer than expected they likely will recover time during a later phase.
