Also, I heard on the TV news that part of the strategy is to launch a Zellers online shopping site. The site's up now, but just in 'coming soon' mode at the moment:

I'm not sure how it will work out but as mentioned I think it will be largely contingent on the merchandise being offered - is it unique (or at least not a lot of overlap with The Bay), budget-priced (which was Zellers market position), and selections plentiful enough to draw people in. Or, if not total budget-conscious, then unique, interesting items that will offer something different than everyone else. Otherwise, it will satisfy the nostalgia aspect for awhile, but likely fizzle out.
Personally, any place that gives me the option of buying low cost items that's not Walmart is a positive (disclaimer: I hate Walmart...
). I hope it works out for them.
