I'd have to imagine it's a temporary venue if they're planning to open by September...

It looks like a glorified air pump up building.

Microsoft Office Buildings

Since both Microsoft buildings utilize the same brick, I kind of wish that they had adopted some of the same Art Deco/Bauhaus style building curves into the larger building for continuity of Design.

Maybe they wanted them to appear different.

I suppose in their imagination of an old style Industrial complex, they wanted the smaller building to be the so-called “Widget Headquarters” and the larger building to be the corresponding “Widget Factory”

The style is known as Art Moderne. It is gives the spartan modernist look a bit more flair.

"Blow Up" building is now being "inflated". Not even bothering to remove the tennis courts.

New plans for Northside Drive and 17th Street

https://whatnowatlanta.com/southeast...-heights-site/

Quote:
Southeastern is involved in plans to develop a 321-unit mixed-use project in the Loring Heights neighborhood at the southeastern corner of Northside Drive and 17th Street, according to a permit application for the development filed this week.

Acquired by The Kroger Co. for about $10.9 million in 2017, the roughly 6-acre project site was previously envisioned as an anchor to a large project by Fuqua Development along 17th Street. The site was rezoned in 2018 to pave the way for a new grocery store and apartments.

With design being led by Studio Architects, project plans call for about 350,000 square feet of residential space and 30,000 square feet of retail, along with 681 parking spaces split between two parking decks. The site plan shows a private drive running down the middle of the development, parallel with 17th Street.

A little Atlantic Station updates and news.

Atlantic Yards/Microsoft backing up. They had P3 "car ready" and moved all the construction trailers and equipment in to P3 to make room for the "Balloon" building. Looks like perpetual construction now almost a year late.

The long term/temporary "Ballon" building.

Really Temporary: Atlanta Open stadium going up.

Permanent and all but certain to be quick and on schedule. Tesla is adding 20 V3 Superchargers to the original Georgia SC station's 10 V2's. Today Teslas waiting in cue to charge and having to navigate construction.

Atlantic Station update.

Atlanta Open started today.

20 V3 Supercharger Stations going in. When completed there will be 30 and the most in Georgia (Brunswick has a 24 stall station). Also funny side note several people on a Tesla forum say they won't go there until complete because of possible contamination with the in ground construction.

Atlantic Yards ALMOST complete one year after it was also ALMOST complete. AKA perpetual construction. Will report back in 3 months when it will be ALMOST complete again.

"Ballon" building rising to the top of the hole. Lovely corrugated steel exterior too.

Nothing substantive but thought it made a nice pic. Also hopefully Union Phase II will block this new in a couple of years.

Tesla Supercharger 20 V3 stalls opens tomorrow to make a total of 30 stalls (10 V2's). This is the largest Supercharging station in the east. Coincidentally the now 2ed largest in the east is in Brunswick/I95 at 24 V3 stalls.

I don't hate it.

On a side note, I have always wondered if there are intense discussions in the design studio about which apartments should have their lights on in these drawings.
