Honestly, I think it looks awful. Well, in person IMO.

I agree. It's not bad. I'll take basic architecture over "Mr Potato Head" modernism any day.

It appears there is the possibility those shades of beige are just undercoats, and the 'stucco' will in the end be all a uniform white color. If it is all white/grey brick, I don't think it will look too bad, however, I think the bad trend of painting various colors all over a building is dead and hopefully the finished product will be more elegant.

Unfortunately this one will looks to be like another paint by number atrocity as well.

The scratch coats are grey - in an earlier aerial image you can see 2 upper floors in the middle portion don't have the final coat with color quite yet.

Not to say this cannot be painted down the road -as often happens, but sometimes these projects just try TOO hard.

Nooooo! Home Park is a lovely little break on foot, lovely trees and sandy roads, nice little houses. I recommend walking through it instead of driving or looking at it from above. Demolishing Home Park would be a terrible loss for the city.

What would really meld together the neighborhood would be to complete the street grid over the connector, all the way to the north end of Atlantic station. Which isn't even being discussed because of the cost. If the parking podium below Atlantic Station was completely obscured, walking through there would feel a lot less "artificial". Right now it's still pretty apparent you're a few floors above ground level.

It would also mean the lots next to the connector could finally be used for something better than self-storage and that hokey "car vending machine". Maybe something to better accentuate Home Park and make it more "homey".

To be fair, the lots next to the connector could be used for more as is. We just allow such poor uses of the land. Georgia Tech’s graduate housing, 6 buildings of 3-6 stories, is better land use (though not perfect) and much further to the west in Home Park.

Admittedly, I've only been in Home Park a few times, but much of what I saw seemed kind of dumpy and like no big loss (I know there are at least a few gems tucked in there, though). Once the rest of Midtown fills in (which could still take a while), working south from AS seems reasonable to me.

Also an amazing canopy of trees there. It's a nice break between Midtown and West Midtown.

Totally agree!

Reminds me of some peep on here saying narrow comments like 'can't see a certain building while driving down the Downtown Connector', etc.
