There's a trailer park not far from there with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs street names. These trailer parks around the outer parts of the metro area are Trailer Park Boys land.

The man behind the name doesn't deserve to have a street named after him in Canada. It's still a complete waste of funds we don't have to rename it. No one knew who Dundas was until it became an issue. Most people still don't know.

As for renaming Ryerson for essentially one article he later retracted is plain stupid in my books. As you can see, I'm just not really into creating a new Canada. There's certainly darkness in our past but I'm optimistic we have learned from it . There enough in the present that contradicts our high moral standards. The shit I here my nieces are doing in the Toronto school system does nothing for the long dead victims. It goes beyond acknowledgment to never do it again. These are attempts to make amends to long dead victims

Having lived in both places, Montreal actually cares about its inhabitants. Toronto just sells its soul to developers and settles for whatever minimal scraps the developers decide to toss to the city.

Pocket parks that nobody will ever hang out in, ridiculous facadectomies, crappy art 'things' whatever..

"Parking" lol!
As if everyone was driving from wherever to our little side street (an admittedly authentic side street).
Most of them were just parking there to go to the market one block up off Jean-Talon, they weren't hanging on our street, like us neighbourdoods do.
But they were all-in after the second year!
I think most people would prefer that it remain closed year-round.
We are all deeply saddened when it is over.

Nice vibe from 2020!
And Av Mont-Royal has been doing this for years, it's not just some sudden reaction to COVID.

The Ottawa Rideau and William Street renewal project is complete. All that's missing are the three art pieces (don't know what they are or where they will be installed).

The area has had a rough history over the last 40 years, with the bus mall and heated bus shelters in the 80s (along with the street killing Rideau Centre) that brought seedy activities to the area, to the stroad of the 90s and 2000s, and the years of construction and the major sink hole caused by the Confederation Line tunneling.

The expanded Rideau Centre, the new O-Train Station, the street that now better serves active transportation as opposed to cars. Night and day compared to what it was.

Montreal may pay more attention to public spaces but, it's hardly as big of a gap as you make it out to be. It's a much bigger part of Montreal's identity and garners more attention than it does in Toronto. There are many landscaped bump outs in Toronto.

The money from development has made Toronto a very pro development city. The jury is still out on Montreal. Toronto has been a global real estate hot bed for decades. The level of foreign investment driving Montreal development is still fresh.
