As a southern California resident, I am very fond of Las Vegas. I have been going there for years and have slowly seen it change over time. I even lived in Las Vegas from 2000-2002. Unfortunately, in my opinion I feel like all the things that made Las Vegas unique are slowly disappearing. All the old casinos with history and their own story. I think the best time in Las Vegas was in the mid 90's when there was a mix of old and new. Now it looks like Miami to me...just full of condo's. It's like they bulldozed the attractions so they could build close to the attractions, not realizing there's not much left. No offense to any Las Vegas forumers, I was a resident myself, but I miss the old properties and their unique character.

All these condo developments should be built downtown. That way they can still be built without the loss of iconic structures and it's not in the restricted FAA zone. Seriously, it's not miles and miles from the main part of the strip. Also, with the monorail constantly expanding that will bridge the gap between the two that much more!
BTW, wasn't the Fountainbleau project supposed to be over 1,000 feet? If so what a f***in shame!!! Then again if they didn't try to go for a site in the FAA restricted zone than they would have not have ran into that problem. They should have built where the Ivana project was supposed to go, at least that is approved up to 921 feet. Why did they plan for something that tall there if they knew all they were in for was a big letdown? Isn't the project now supposed to be only 725 feet? If so how many floors will it be? For a project that's under construction we haven't been given hardly any if not close to no information about the project at all...
