Also, you need equipment to get a lot of watch backs off.

Which they have, plus the ability to use it.

I was going to include that in my post, but it was getting too wordy...

I guess that's something that those of us who don't wear watches wouldn't have to worry about, I suppose.

"By the time my watch is done I've spent more on replacement batteries and straps than I did on the original purchase price of the watch."

Sounds like the 100 year old axe, like brand new, only ever had three heads and nine handles.

Yep, that's pretty much it, except that the case and the "guts" are original. Heck, on the one I'm wearing the case is even starting to show some corrosion pitting...

Wait, is HWC actually gone from the Center now? I actually have a stopped watch right now that needs fixing. Hate going all the way out to MicMac. Man, that sucks, just to do something simple like getting a watch battery.

I haven't been to HSC in a while, but the location is still listed on HWC's website. Maybe they've moved within the mall?

I just called HWC at the HSC location and asked if they were moving from their spot and they confirmed they are still in the center food court for about another month then they will be relocating closer to the entrance and take over where pearl vision was. I would think this means bigger store which is much needed for HWC.

Anyone have an idea of what new retailers we will see in HSC as a part of this renovation? My guesses would be H&M, maybe Zara, LEGO, maybe Disney, possibly Abercrombie & Fitch, Hot Topic

I doubt it will be A&F, that's a dying brand. My money would be on Zara.

H & M just announced it is opening in the Charlottetown Mall this fall, so I could easily see them open another store here either in HSC or Downtown.

I expect we are likely going to see the Disney Store and the Lego Store as those have opened in Winnipeg.

Disney and Lego would make sense because they would be the only location in Atlantic Canada and are considered upmarket tenants which HSC is targeting.

I also doubt it too but they did just open their first Vancouver store and are completely rehauling their stores, clothes, marketing and image

Talking New food court

In early May 2016, Halifax Shopping Centre will unveil a brand new food court known as Terrace (copied from HSC website)

The large glass ceiling seems to have a big effect on the ambiance of the mall. Just looking at the photos posted by q12 and kph06, it seems to have an outdoors appearance.

I especially like this photo by kph06:

I'm liking the idea of wearing sunscreen while at the mall

I agree about Forever 21, though probably a smaller store than the massive one in Mic Mac. I expect the mall will start new store announcements later this spring if they plan on a Fall opening.
