great news...and for what it's worth, this is in Hamilton, not Stoney Creek.

Nothing different at the aforementioned parking lot yet though.

I'm impressed they are offering FULL connections. I was expected something like McMaster where it doesn't start until 540am and ends after the 2143 out of Union. Now, if only they could create a dedicated lane for GO buses leaving Burlington GO so they aren't stuck in the traffic after each train.

Another thing, does anyone have info on the Fare structure for this new zone. Will we be able to use a Zone 18 ticket to go there?

Stoney Creek is a different zone number(80), but the fare seems to be the same as from the Hamilton GO Centre.

I'm a stickler for this..... Nash is well within Hamilton. The SC border is several blocks east.

It's a temporary location, Nash/Barton. Suppose to relocate to Eastgate Mall next year I believe.

I took this connection on Monday. Not bad, annoying that it's only every other hour and one has to plan to take it.

I was on the 1443 out of Union and the Stoney Creek bus had four other people on it. That's not bad considering it's off peak. According to the driver, the service is fairly popular.

In terms of calling it Stoney Creek, I think it's to avoid confusion. The train CSR currently announces

"Connections at Bronte for Milton, Burlington for Stoney Creek, and at Aldershot for Hamilton GO Centre and McMaster University."

One lady got off at Burlington yesterday who was going to Wellington Street cause she thought Stoney Creek was the bus she wanted, not Hamilton GO Centre. Imagine the added confusion if it were Hamilton East or East Hamilton.

sheesh....so now we start calling parts of the region by their wrong name because someone might not know where they are??
I was on Barton the other day and saw this park and ride lot for GO.
I was thinking to myself "gee, I've never heard of this before".
Then I realized while reading on here that it's this new 'Stoney Creek' service.
What a joke.
If someone who lives here doesn't know the difference between Barton and Nash (HAMILTON) and Barton and Green (STONEY CREEK), perhaps they should just stay inside and not venture out.

I've driven past it. A corner of a mostly empty plaza, formerly anchored by Commisso's Food Market, parking lot with some GO signs and a bike rack.

GO`s Niagara Falls bus schedule is located here http://www.gotransit.com/publicroot/...New=Y&station=

the buses will serve the Stoney Creek park and ride, the schedule times have changed a bit, so if you use the Stoney Creek stop check it out. There will be an extra bus in each direction connecting the park and ride to the train in Burlington, and the park and ride can now be used to board a bus traveling to Grimsby, St Catharines or Niagara Falls, which I think is great

Yeah that is a bit of an embarassing typo for GO Transit, although on the topic of St. Catharines, I think Fairview mall was an okay selection for the GO bus stop, it has decent local transit service (for St. Catharines) and is walking distance from a fair amount of apartment buildings

Somewhere downtown would be my first choice.

I'd agree - St. Catharines operates their bus service from a central downtown hub, especially because the streets in the city are so haphazard (not neatly perpendicular/parallel).

It doesn't make much sense to drop them off at a mall with a transit area only some of those buses stop at.

Also I thought Barton and Nash was a temporary location and that the Park and Ride would be moved to Eastgate Mall...does anyone know if that is still happening?
