It has to be rough being a Jets fan in Winnipeg. It's unfortunate, but it seems no one wants to play there, and consequently it looks as if the Jets will never win a Stanley Cup. It looked so positive a few years ago, now with trade demands and maybe a stale roster, a major reboot is in the works.

they will be like the jets 1.0 of the Hawerchuk and Selanne years a bubble team competing for the final playoff spot and if they are lucky maybe win a round.

The Jets likely would have without the Oilers.

We continue to sign league MIN guys... maybe waiting for a big play?

The Edmonton Oilers made a handful of additions when free agency opened on July 1.
They signed Connor Brown, Connor McDavid’s captain from his days in the OHL, to a one-year, performance bonus-laden contract to round out the team’s top-six forward group. They also signed forwards Drake Caggiula and Lane Pederson along with defenders Noel Hoefenmayer and Ben Gleason to add to the team’s depth.

The roster shown below carries a cap hit of $77,117,500, which leaves the Oilers with $6,382,500 in cap space to fill the rest of the spots…

Edmonton Oilers are the most improved team in Pacific Division this off-season, says analytics expert. Hmm

I don't think thats a false statement. The only other Pacific Division team that did anything substantial was LA. Every other team did nothing or got worse.

Yeah, not exactly a high bar to clear on that one.

I don't know exactly why, but I'm starting to get excited for the season to start. I haven't felt that way in a few years.

Agreed in full!

Pumped to see the Oilers try again and maybe play a more balanced game.

Excited to see Connor Jr.

Pittsburg will indeed be exciting.

Looking forward to watching the Flames 'rebuild' again.

GO OILERS GO

I am indifferent to this upcoming season canadian teams seem to have gotten worse this summer outside of Edmonton maybe don't see any going far in playoffs so will be same as past 30 years.

I'm still excited for the season. I love hockey in general. Lots of interesting stories to follow.

Agreed on the Canadian teams looking a bit listless. Maybe the moves in Toronto are the right ones to shake things up and get a more capable playoff team. Boston is going to be interesting with the changes up front and lots of good rookies to watch on teams that might actually use them the whole season.

I have a feeling this indifference may be a Winnipeg thing as the Jets' likely ceiling this season is another wild card finish followed by a hasty first round exit.

At least we have a season full of Scheif and Helle drama to look forward to!!!!
