I've uploaded the first of my photos from a trip to Southern Ontario in May, starting with Guelph and its Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception:

More photos here.

Future photos will include: the rest of Downtown Guelph; downtown Galt (Cambridge); downtown Kitchener and a bit of Waterloo; Hamilton's Main, King, and James Streets; Niagara Falls and a view of Buffalo from Fort Erie (I don't have a passport so that was as close as I could get); and Toronto's Humber Bay and Yonge Street.

Gonna be a busy summer of photo editing and uploading but I'm hoping to have them all up by late 2032.

Lots to love in that set... thanks for sharing it

But this one in particular caught my eye. What a great mural. Creepy-good.

Suck it, Baskin Robbins

Montreal has the best murals in the country - hands down. Also the best 'fabric' in terms of a wonderful organic mix of architectural styles and streetscape. It's like a great home cooked meal, can take hours to simmer, add in many ingredients, don't overpower with one or two ingredients, be patient and all will be revealed. Thanks for sharing Martin Mtl.

By the way, what's the right/easiest way to share Instagram photos on this forum?

What is the old modified building in the background? And what was it when originally built? (looks like school-style architecture from the early 20th century)

The winter photos will be most welcome when humid weather hits... if it does.

It's the Senator Patrick Burns Building, also called "Heritage Hall". It was always part of SAIT since it's construction in 1922, though the school was founded in 1916. SAIT is one of the oldest post-secondary institutions in Alberta (behind U of A, MRU and Olds College), and the oldest publicly funded technical school in the country.

TROIS-RIVIÈRES
On the Popular Side

I was at a friend's yesterday. He lives in an old working class neighbourhood of Trois-Rivières : Sainte-Cécile. Spotlight on one of T-R's obscure sides, made of back alleys and 3 storeys plexes, reminiscent of the pulp and paper years.

Beautiful. I wish some of those housing styles had stayed popular and proliferated out west.
