Quality control in this town is a joke, very few take it serious. Everyone says they take it serious but that’s not the case. Not surprised one bit when I hear local stories like this

I'm surprised they haven't been pulled into that lawsuit. Usually everyone under the sun gets hit with papers.

Although I'll note, the law firm representing the Plaintiff (and proposed class) here is no slouch at all. They're a fairly prestigious firm, and isn't likely to be taking on BS cases.

There's several photos in the lawsuit

Does anyone know what is planned for the small lot to the south of this tower between the building and River St? It is currently just a gravel lot. I read in this thread that it was supposed to be dedicated parkland, or at least that was the plan at some point, but the building has been done for a long time now.

I’ve been wondering this, too. It looks too small to be an effective development, tbh. But weird for parkland, too. Maybe a food truck lot?

That lot was supposed to be parkland. The developer had to do that to appease the MACC in order to get approval from the City.

I went on Rainey a good amount last week and thought this too. Food trucks would be a nice addition to it. Sad to see it not being utilized

Small public spaces like that can be nice for a neighborhood.

I stayed in a bed and breakfast in New Orleans that has a similarly sized "park" across the street. It had a fountain with a statue, some landscaping, and a few benches.

It was a nice place to sit with my morning cup of coffee.

Yeah, especially with 80 Rainey's development already cutting down the number of food trucks, and Via 313 needing to move away from Craft Pride (with River St. Residences' development pending), a space for a couple food trucks would be nice.

Although honestly, I kind of wish the MACC would open itself up to that at nights anyways. Very rarely is it being used past 6-7 PM anyways, and that would give them some addition revenue generation.

Parkland would of course also be nice, but I think it would honestly need to be pretty damn well manicured (almost like the amenity floor of 70 Rainey, with specific landscaping and plants), in order to be much more than "an empty lot with a couple bushes."

Added a diagram for this one. It was harder to draw than I was anticipating.

Thanks everyone! I resubmitted after realizing how dark the shadow side of the building was, so hopefully the update gets approved. I'm still learning what works and doesn't work.
