Yes because we all know that the biggest, bulkiest and most iconic building on the skyline is the San Jacinto Tower, and the UT Tower is on Congress Avenue and that we have a super tall in the shape of a guitar! (would make for an awesome observation Lounge on the top floor)

I'm not even going to mention the 360 Bridge... Other than mentioning it in the prior sentence....

Is there already guitar shaped building elsewhere? That could make for a fun observation tower lol

Honestly I don't know but would be interesting if we were the first.

Ugh what a waste. No offense to anyone but I can’t stand hard rock hotels.

to me, that’s awesome. Add a guitar neck and observation deck and presto: supertall y’all.

I always cringe when I see anything guitar related with Austin....usually those airport "sculptures" trigger it. So contrived and non-existent.

Well I give them props with the lighting at least. My dream is to have a lighted Austin tower only half that brilliant. (which would still be more impressive than anything we currently have)

Agreed!

Also, you can put cool lighting on a building without making it look like a literal guitar

Damn! I think that is cool as shit!!! Maybe more so at night with the lighting. I'm partial because I have been playing guitar since I was 4. I would like to see a Fender Strat (what I play) but I guess the Les Paul has more body hence more rooms than a Strat would offer.
My only complaint is the chopped off neck. If they completed the guitar with a full neck, they could have added exterior elevators that go up and down the strings to an observation deck in the headstock. Sure the whole thing is kind of tacky, but I like it. It would be fitting for Austin unless 'Music Captital Of The World' isn't synomynous with guitars anymore. My only admiration for Hard Rock Cafe or Hotels is the memorabilia displayed within them. Its my Mecca, or at least, used to be.

Yep, I like it too. And a casino can totally get away with architecture like that.

The Austin version would definitely need to be a Strat (SRV, Eric Johnson, etc) and have the full neck!

Not a fan of that. What happens in Vegas really should stay in Vegas.

Great screen caps! I caught those as well. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the scenery and the show itself. You have to take it for what it is. Though I was half expecting them to portray Austin as a flat, shrubby desert, which they didn't (for the most part)
